Iida Park nicknamed as Midorina is a green space designed to teach Hamamatsu residents gardening and to show some example garden trees and hedge patterns as well as displaying major garden rock formations. It is a nice place to visit any time of the year. Its jogging and walking course is only 700 meters long and serious runner may find it best to explore to nearby Tenryu river running courses. The downside of this course is the narrow road between 600 to 700 meter (start) points. When I visited this park in mid December I could still enjoy the autumn leaves.
Although the zero point is at the entrance gate it is easy to miss. Go leftward path from there.
Right after you turn the first corner you will find 100 meter point mark at your left. On your left you will see a nice pond home to migratory birds.
200 meter mark is on your right side, close to the garden of bearing fruits.
Around the 300-meter point you can find a wide variety of hedge styles prevalent in Japan.
Near the 400-meter point there is a nice lawn area with a bench for you to relax.
