Run along the south coast of the island. From the start run east for 4km and turn around and go back past the start. Run 17km to the west and turn around and come back to the finish. Fairly quite roads. You have a view of the sea for most of the race. The wind comes from the east so you end up running into the wind for the last 17km. Little bays give you some shelter. There is only one hill of any significance. Only 109 runners started the race so it can be quite lonely. Waterpoints are 5km apart and have coke, water, fruit, salt and sugar.
You don't need to go through any of the travel agents from SA. We managed to plan and book the trip ourselves and saved a few thousand rand. There are other ways to make it a much cheaper trip.
