Nice mountain hike! Altitude gain seesm to be pretty ambitious; I would take transportation for the first 600m altitude (ojek); as it is on a good path (often hard top) and through fields and plantation (mainly tea). Selamat hari

Hi, Going up, i can arrange Ojek from the main road right? How about coming down?

Hi, I walked from and to the main road. Easy and nice walk.

Thank you for your reply. I am from Malaysia and will be staying at Pangalengan for a few days. Do you think i can rent a car and drive to the Tv tower directly? The start point for hiking is at the tower? Or i can drive further up to the basecamp building and pay registration fee? Lastly, is it safe for me to navigate myself using GPX Garmin guide? The route you used is 25km from 900m altitude, what is the name of the place? Thank you!

I stayed at Salawu, down the main road and I took a public bus to the junction. That was many years ago. You can check Gunung Bagging website, that is where I got the information and the track for GPS. If you have a GPS and the track, you can do it on your own. Trail is well marked... Just follow the garbage :-(
